Happy Birthday CANADA - 145 Years Old!
Durham Regon has all sorts of Canada Day Celebrations going on, Pick the town in which you live, or visit another one, just be sure to participte in one of them. It will be a day to remember and great family time together. All events take plavce on Sunday July 1st, tims vary within each City/Town.
PICKERING

Main Stage Entertainment starts at 7 pm,with Union Spring, Retro Circuit and feature performer Suzie McNeil! The night ends with a bang, don't miss Pickering's annual pyromusical fireworks show!
Free transit from OPG (777 and 889 Brock Road South), from 12 noon to fireworks.

Located at Rotary Park on Ajax’s beautiful waterfront, this free admission event is a great way to celebrate the nations birthday. Activities include children’s activities, games, inflatable rides, live entertainment, cultural performances, face painting, crafts, displays from local community organizations, and so much more for the entire family! FREE shuttle busses are provided for this event.

Events
Come celebrate Canada Day in Whitby! The County Town Carnival is a family-oriented event with free admission and parking. The children's area includes jumping castles, petting zoo, face painting, games, balloons, Station Gallery Art activities which are available for children to enjoy until 8:00 p.m. Performing artists and carnival booths keep visitors of all ages entertained throughout the festivities. The park is an ideal location for picnics and enjoying the July weather. Learn about community organizations and services in your community.
Don't miss the live entertainment at centre stage throughout the day until dark when the Community Connection Fireworks ignite the summer night skies.
2012 marks the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Enjoy commemorative activities with the 10th Royal Veteran Battalion and Whitby Public Library and Archives. Visit the Town of Whitby information tent and complete our Canada Day heritage quiz and win a prize!
Parking is available at Whitby Go Station and Iroquois Park Sports Centre just across the street from the event site.
Durham Region Transit provides limited Sunday and Holiday service to Victoria Fields via Route 318 which departs hourly from the Whitby GO Station terminal.

Carnival
Come and enjoy the full carnival experience with rides, games and excitement provided by Gable Brothers. Minimal cost will apply.
Children`s Village
Crafts, games, live entertainment, playground and more! Conveniently located next to our Safety Zone, washrooms and the Jubilee Pavilion. All activities are FREE!
Historical Village
Did you know that Lakeview Park is the setting of the Oshawa Community Museum & Archives? Take a step back in time at the Guy House, the Henry House and the Robinson House. Tours by donation from 1-5pm!
West Stage:
Located at the West end of Lakeview Park, the West Stage will host live performances between 1:45pm and 10pm and our Canada Day Ceremony, featuring the singing of our National anthem in both official languages and greetings from Oshawa Council and Mayor.
Spectators can bring chairs or blankets and relax under the shade of trees or get up close and personal in our accessible spectator area.
Beach Stage:
Located at the East end of Lakeview Park, just next to the beach and volleyball courts, the Beach Stage will host live performances between 2pm and 10pm.
Spectators can bring chairs or blankets and relax on the hillside providing a natural amphitheatre experience.
Buskers
Throughout the park to surprise you with Oshawa`s great local talent!
Safety Zone
Strategically located in the centre of Lakeview Park, First Aid, Police, EMS and Search and Rescue teams are on hand to address any situation and support our community.
Vendors Market
Vendors will showcase fresh and local food, yummy treats, original craftspeople and items to browse and buy. Check back for finalized list of vendors. Interested vendors, please go to Food Vendors or Merchandise Vendors.
Music
This year`s Canada Day will feature local talent for people of all ages. We are proud to showcase the best that buskers and bands Durham has to offer.
Canada Day 2012 will take place at Lakeview Park, Simcoe Street S. and Lakeview Park Avenue, south of the 401 in Oshawa. Please note that Lakeview Park is closed to public parking. There is limited parking within walking distance, however we highly recommend that people take the free shuttles from the Oshawa Centre. These buses will run every 15 minutes and are accessible.
Parking in Lakeview Park is restricted to pass holders and accessible permits only. For safety purposes, all parking lots within Lakeview Park will be closed between 10:00 to 11:30pm. Access out of these parking lots will not be permitted until after all shuttle buses have left.
Accessible parking will be available in Lakeview Park. You must present an accessible parking permit to gain entry into the park.

All streets will be closed to traffic within the Lakeview Park area, which includes all streets east of Ritson Rd. S., and south of Harbour Rd..
