Lakeshore East GO Train expansion to Bowmanville

The upcoming expansion of Go train service will offer railing commuters much needed options.
The project will expand existing Lakeshore East line all the way to Bowmanville, with an addition of four train stations:
Oshawa West GO Station – at Thornton Road (Thornton’s Corners)
Central Oshawa GO Station – at Ritson Road
Darlington GO Station – at Courtice Road
Bowmanville GO Station – at Martin Road
Oshawa East travellers might also get on board: a proposed future site is at Bloor St (Grandview GO Station).
For commuters traveling on Highway 401, Darlington GO Station at Courtice Road will include direct access to and from the expressway.
In Bowmanville, the Go project at Martin Road will involve expansion of the existing local bus transit in addition to the development of the train system. This location will provide easy train access to the growing number of stores at Bowmanville West Town Centre.
Completion of the project will proceed in phases, from east to west. With the assessment reports already completed, the process is now ready to enter construction phase. As to when the train is coming, at this time it’s just a whistle in the dark...
