Oshawa Welcomes Shrine Circus on July 17, 2012
Oshawa - The clowns! The high-wire! Death-defying acts! The Shrine Circus is coming to Oshawa, Ontario on Tuesday July 17, 2012 with two performances.
The Shrine Circus was founded in Detroit, Michigan in 1906 travelling all across North America with 120 stops in the United States, and a separate unit servicing 40 Canadian cities. The circus is named after the founders, the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. You can probably see why they shortened the name to merely The Shriners.
Today's Shrine Circus feature a number of acts including: clowns, equestrianism (horses), high-flying acrobatics, performing dogs, and of course the elephant show.
The Circus will be performing at Oshawa's General Motors Centre in the downtown. Tickets for each of the performances (4:00p.m. and 7:00p.m.) can be purchased for $20.00/person (general admission) or $30.00/person (VIP ringside).
Additional information regarding The Shrine Circus and the GM Centre can be found by visiting their websites.
